On my 29th New Year’s Eve, I made a polar opposite resolution to most of the other resolutions being made that night. I was going to learn to drink.
It took me until almost Christmas to find a cocktail I could get down and even then I’m not sure I qualified as a social drinker. Fifteen months into my resolution, my BFF and I were here in Austin (neither of us residents yet) celebrating her birthday. We wandered into a restaurant that has remained one of our favorites and I fell madly in love with Queso de Cabra Frito con Miel. Who knew lavender and goat cheese (when fried, covered in caramelized onions, and drizzled with honey) went so well together?
